Most are basket or solid-tumor trials that enroll by a molecular alteration or by peritoneal disease, not by histology. This page gives you two ways in. How to find appendix cancer clinical trials on your own
If you would rather search directly, ClinicalTrials.gov remains the primary source. Searching by histology alone will miss most relevant studies, so widen the search along the lines below.
Search by molecular target
Filter by the patient’s driver, such as KRAS G12 variants, GNAS, HER2, or MSI-high status, to surface basket trials that accept appendiceal histology.
Search by treatment setting
Terms like peritoneal, cytoreduction, HIPEC, and PIPAC find surgical and regional-therapy studies relevant to peritoneal disease.
Look beyond tumor type
Studies listing advanced or other solid tumors with a matching alteration frequently do not exclude appendiceal patients.
Confirm eligibility directly
Most early-phase trials require prior therapy, adequate performance status, and a documented molecular result. Confirm with the site.
A note on molecular matching
Because appendiceal mucinous tumors and pseudomyxoma peritonei are frequently KRAS and GNAS driven, molecular profiling opens more doors than histology does. Obtaining next-generation sequencing early gives patients the widest set of options and lets you match them to the right basket. Trial status changes quickly, so verify that a study is open and enrolling before you counsel a patient toward it.
