Welcome to appendicure.com. This page explains the rules for using our website. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. Who we are
This website is owned and operated by Appendicure, a patient-led nonprofit focused on appendiceal (appendix) cancers, based in North Carolina, United States. You can reach us at info@appendicure.com.
2. This is not medical advice
Appendicure shares information, patient education, and research to support people affected by appendiceal cancer. Nothing on this website is medical advice, and we are not your doctor. The information here is for general educational purposes only.
Always talk to a qualified healthcare professional about your own diagnosis, treatment, and care. Never delay or ignore medical advice because of something you read on this site. If you have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number.
3. The information on this site
We work to keep our information accurate and up to date, but we cannot promise it is complete, current, or error-free. Appendiceal cancers are rare, and research changes over time. The site and its content are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind.
4. The Patient Registry
If you choose to join the Appendicure Patient Registry, your participation is governed by the informed consent form you complete and by our Privacy Notice. If anything in these Terms of Use appears to conflict with the consent form or the Privacy Notice regarding the registry, those documents control.
5. Your privacy and cookies
We explain how we handle your personal information in our Privacy Notice, and how we use cookies in our Cookie Policy. Please read both.
6. Our content
The content on this site — text, graphics, logos, and educational materials — belongs to Appendicure or is used with permission, and is protected by copyright. All rights are reserved. When you use our site, please do not:
- Use it for any unlawful purpose, or to harm, harass, or mislead others.
- Try to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site or its systems.
- Copy or scrape the site to build a competing service.

8. Feedback
We welcome your feedback and suggestions. If you send us ideas to improve our work, we may use them to do so. You will not owe us anything, and we will not owe you anything, for feedback you choose to share — but sharing feedback is always your choice.
9. Links and third-party services
Our site links to services we use, such as our registry form (Jotform), our donation page (Givebutter), and our social media pages. It may also link to other websites. We do not control these third parties, and their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
